Singer Wizkid shared a poignant reflection on Instagram, revealing that he felt a loss of self since the passing of his mother, Juliana Balogun. In an Instagram story on Wednesday, the Grammy-winning artist expressed his longing to rediscover his true self.

In the emotional post, Wizkid looked inward, acknowledging the impact of his mother’s departure, stating, “Look in the mirror, don’t feel myself! Mama left me and I lost myself! Can’t wait to feel myself again! Life of a soldier! Military with us.”

This revelation comes a month after Wizkid had previously shared on Instagram that life had felt meaningless since losing his mother. In that post, he mentioned creating the song “Made” a few days after his mother’s passing and emphasized the need to let go and work with God to navigate through challenging times.

The burial of Wizkid’s mother took place on October 13 in Lagos and drew significant attention, with various music stars, actors, and entertainment industry figures attending the reception. Wizkid, born on July 26, 1990, in Surulere, Lagos, grew up in a polygamous home with a Muslim father and a Christian mother, who was Juliana Balogun. His father had three wives.
