Last week, Abuja-based businesswoman Aisha Achimugu elevated the standards of celebrations by organizing an extravagant seven-day 50th birthday festivity on the Caribbean Island of Grenada.

The festivities took place at two remarkable locations – Calivigny Island and Silversand, an opulent seven-star luxury resort established five years ago at Grand Anse Beach.

Among the attendees was Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, sparking public inquiries regarding his presence and accusations of neglecting official duties for the celebration. While Governor Sanwo-Olu has not publicly addressed his participation in Achimugu’s party, the state government released images of him meeting Grenada’s Prime Minister Dickson Michelle, stating that he “also attended some social engagements during his visit” to Grenada.
