Addressing the allegations raised in the documentary, John Chi took to Instagram on Tuesday, January 9, sharing a video from his archives. In the video, he reminisced about the transformative impact Prophet TB Joshua had on his life since their initial meeting in 1999.
Recalling those early days, John Chi expressed, “When we first met in 1999, he did not hesitate to adopt me as one of his children. He caused me to forget my unworthy background. Prophet TB Joshua impacted my life and changed me.”
Detailing the evolution in his spiritual journey under Joshua’s guidance, John Chi explained, “He picked me from a mere builder to a prayer warrior, to an evangelist. He sent me to preach to many branches in Nigeria and outside Nigeria. He later elevated me to the position of wiseman, which means greater responsibilities.”
Contrary to the portrayal in the BBC documentary, John Chi asserted that Joshua instilled values of kindness, love, forgiveness, and humility in his disciples. He further revealed, “A few days before he went to be with the Lord, he called my wife and me and encouraged us to stand firm and to remain steadfast in the faith as we have been doing.”
Expressing gratitude for Joshua’s life, the Cameroonian emphasized that the Ondo-born televangelist remains his mentor even in death. Prophet TB Joshua passed away on June 5, 2021, after meeting with Emmanuel TV partners.
