In a significant overhaul of the compensation framework for Judicial Officers, President Bola Tinubu has spearheaded a comprehensive review, ushering in substantial salary increases for key figures in the legal fraternity. Among the beneficiaries, Chief Justice of Nigeria, Olukayode Ariwoola, stands to receive a monthly basic salary of N1.1 million, coupled with N4.3 million in regular allowances, as outlined in an executive bill forwarded to the National Assembly.

Upon the House of Representatives’ endorsement of Tinubu’s proposal to elevate the remuneration packages of judicial officers, CJN Ariwoola’s annual income is poised to skyrocket to N13.5 million in basic salary, supplemented by N51.2 million in regular allowances, culminating in a staggering total of N64.7 million.

Delving deeper into the revised salary framework, the President of the Court of Appeal is slated to command an impressive annual package of N62.4 million, reflecting the substantial uplift mandated by Tinubu’s directive. Meanwhile, justices of the Supreme Court are poised to enjoy annual earnings of N61.4 million, a significant enhancement from their previous compensation structure.
