The Federal Government has announced a public holiday on Wednesday, June 12, to celebrate Democracy Day.
In a statement released on Tuesday by the Ministry of Interior’s Permanent Secretary, Dr. Aishetu Ndayako, Minister Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo congratulated Nigerians on this significant occasion. The statement emphasized the importance of reflecting on the efforts of the nation’s founding fathers and working towards maintaining Nigeria as a united, secure, peaceful, and indivisible entity.
Tunji-Ojo encouraged Nigerians to stay committed to the principles of democratic governance. He also highlighted President Bola Tinubu’s dedication to implementing positive reforms aimed at revitalizing the nation’s economy and improving security.
The minister urged Nigerians and friends of Nigeria to recognize the progress made so far and to remain optimistic about the future of Nigeria’s democracy.
