Democracy Day: Federal Government Declares Wednesday a Public Holiday

The Federal Government has announced a public holiday on Wednesday, June 12, to celebrate Democracy Day.

In a statement released on Tuesday by the Ministry of Interior’s Permanent Secretary, Dr. Aishetu Ndayako, Minister Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo congratulated Nigerians on this significant occasion. The statement emphasized the importance of reflecting on the efforts of the nation’s founding fathers and working towards maintaining Nigeria as a united, secure, peaceful, and indivisible entity.

The minister urged Nigerians and friends of Nigeria to recognize the progress made so far and to remain optimistic about the future of Nigeria’s democracy.
