Bukayo Saka encounters Wizkid following victory against Liverpool

Arsenal’s talented winger, Bukayo Saka, had a special encounter with Afrobeat sensation Wizkid on Sunday night at the Emirates Stadium, following the Gunners’ triumphant 3-1 victory over Liverpool in the Premier League.

The young footballer, with Nigerian heritage, presented Wizkid with a signed jersey as a gesture of admiration and appreciation.

Saka played a pivotal role in Arsenal’s success by scoring the team’s first goal during the first half. Despite a late own goal by Gabriel Magalhaes giving Liverpool a chance, Arsenal dominated the latter part of the game. Goals from Gabriel Martinelli and Leandro Trossard secured a crucial win for the hosts, shaking up the Premier League title race.

Having endeared himself to many fans in Nigeria, Saka visited his parents’ hometown in May 2023 after the football season concluded. During his visit, he connected with his roots by spending time with his grandparents in Kwara State. Saka also met Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu and made a charitable visit to an orphanage.

Born in Ealing, Greater London, to Yoruba parents Adenike and Yomi Saka, the 22-year-old forward is the younger of two siblings. His parents migrated from Nigeria to London as economic migrants, and Saka continues to embrace and celebrate his Nigerian heritage.
