In a significant move, music icon Tuface Idibia, popularly known as 2Baba, has amicably ended his professional collaboration with his longtime music manager, Efe Omorogbe, after an impressive 20-year journey together.
The announcement came through a statement shared on Omorogbe’s label, Now Muzik, via their official Instagram account on Wednesday.
Expressing his gratitude, Omorogbe hailed 2Baba as one of Nigeria’s greatest musicians, expressing pride in their shared accomplishments over the years. He remarked on the privilege of working alongside 2Baba, witnessing the creation of remarkable music and the building of enduring brands.
He stated, “I am grateful to 2baba for the trust and for the friendship. I am proud of the brands we built together, the music we made; the fans we entertained.”
Acknowledging the impact of their partnership, 2Baba reciprocated the sentiment, acknowledging the pivotal role Omorogbe and his management played in shaping his career trajectory. He attributed a significant portion of his success to their collaboration, emphasizing how they brought his artistic vision to life.
2Baba’s association with Now Muzik Management began in 2004 after his departure from the acclaimed group Plantashun Boiz, aligning himself with Kennis Music as his record label. His solo debut album, “Face 2 Face,” released the same year, marked the start of a remarkable solo career that has solidified his status as one of Nigeria’s foremost music icons.
