The tranquil atmosphere of Okuama community in Ughelli South Local Government Area of Delta State was shattered by flames following the tragic killing of 16 military personnel. While the exact cause of the fire remains uncertain, reports suggest heightened military presence in the area following the loss of their comrades.
Residents of this coastal enclave have fled in fear of potential reprisals from the soldiers, creating an air of tension and uncertainty. In response, soldiers under the leadership of Major General Jamal Abdussalam, the general officer commanding 6 Division of the Nigerian Army, have made several arrests.
I hope NYSC Corp members and all the innocent people in Bomadi and Ughelli South LGA, Delta, have all been evacuated.
