The Super Eagles of Nigeria have solemnly paid tribute to the four individuals who tragically lost their lives during the intense match against South Africa at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) on Wednesday night.

In a hard-fought battle that extended to a gripping penalty shootout, Nigeria emerged victorious with a 4-2 win, securing their place in the final. However, amidst the euphoria of victory, the team paused to remember the lives lost during the match, including prominent figures like former member of the House of Representatives, Cairo Ojougboh, and Ayuba Abdullahi, the deputy bursar of Kwara State University (KWASU) in Malete.
