Senator Elisha Abbo has found himself in the crosshairs of legal scrutiny after leveling allegations of bribery against Justice Monica Dongban-Mensen, President of the Court of Appeal. In response to Abbo’s claims, a stern ultimatum has been issued, demanding concrete evidence to support his accusations or face legal repercussions for spreading false information.

The ultimatum, delivered by senior advocate of Nigeria and former attorney general of Akwa Ibom State, Uwemedimo Nwoko, leaves Abbo with a clear choice: substantiate his claims with proof or issue a public apology to Justice Dongban-Mensen and the entire judiciary. Failure to comply will result in legal action against Abbo for his baseless allegations.

Nwoko’s statement emphasized the seriousness of Abbo’s accusations and highlighted the absence of any supporting evidence thus far. Drawing attention to Abbo’s previous instance of making unsubstantiated claims against Senator Godswill Akpabio, Nwoko underscored the need for accountability and responsible behavior from public figures.

The lawyer condemned Abbo’s reckless attempt to tarnish the reputation of esteemed justices and the judiciary, urging him to desist from such unwarranted attacks. Nwoko challenged Abbo to either provide verifiable evidence or face the consequences of his actions under the law.
