Tajudeen Ridwan, a former inmate, found himself back in cuffs after Osun Amotekun Corps nabbed him for pilfering electronics from a mosque in Isale Osun Area, Osogbo, Osun State.
Released from prison in March after a four-year sentence for theft, the 30-year-old Ridwan couldn’t resist temptation once more, according to Corps spokesperson Idowu Yusuf.
Disguised as a worshipper, Ridwan brazenly snatched an amplifier from the mosque, only to be caught red-handed by vigilant worshippers and swiftly apprehended by Amotekun operatives.
Commander Brig. Gen. Bashir Adewinmbi (retd.) lamented Ridwan’s audacity, stating, “He was nabbed post-morning prayer, assuming the coast was clear. However, his luck ran out when worshippers spotted him stashing the amplifier in a bag.”
Ridwan, upon preliminary investigation, admitted to his criminal past, having just completed a four-year stint for similar offenses.
Adewinmbi noted that Ridwan had been handed over to the police for further questioning and prosecution, highlighting the relentless pursuit of justice by the authorities.
