In a dramatic turn of events, singer Mayorkun has fired back at TikToker Nickie Dabarbie, demanding a staggering N1 billion in damages for her damaging allegations of him being a “ritualist”.
Nickie’s claims, made via an Instagram post on Friday, sparked outrage as she accused Mayorkun and other Nigerian artists of involvement in ritualistic practices. She also alleged that she narrowly escaped a similar fate with singer Skiibii, claiming he tried to harm her after inviting her for a boat cruise.
In response, Mayorkun’s legal team swiftly issued a stern letter, dismissing Nickie’s accusations as “baseless, bizarre and untrue”. They demanded an immediate retraction and public apology across all social media platforms and two national newspapers within 24 hours.
The singer didn’t stop there. Alongside the retraction and apology, Mayorkun demanded a jaw-dropping N1 billion as compensation for the emotional trauma, loss of endorsement deals, and legal expenses incurred.
The letter warned Nickie of severe consequences if she failed to comply with the demands within 48 hours, stressing the urgency of the situation.
Meanwhile, in a separate development, Skiibii revealed that he had reported the matter to the police, signaling a potential escalation of the controversy.
