Lost Infant Recovered in Lagos after Housemaid Allegedly Admits to Selling for N800,000

The Lagos State Police Command successfully located a baby who had been reported missing in the Somolu area since February 3.

The child, taken by the housemaid named Ruth at 1 am on February 3, was later found without the baby in Ikorodu around 1 pm on the same day.

Ruth initially claimed she left the baby at home, but after police interrogation, she confessed to selling the baby for N800,000. On Monday, Lagos Police Command spokesman Benjamin Hundeyin announced on X that the baby was discovered at Alade Market, Shomolu.

Efforts are ongoing to apprehend the buyer who is currently at large.
