Governor Bello had disbanded the cabinet last week in anticipation of the inauguration of the governor-elect, Ahmed Ododo. Yahaya Ismail was laid to rest on Tuesday, following Islamic rites, in his hometown of Aiyegunle Gbede in Ijumu Local Government Area of Kogi.
In the official statement, Governor Bello expressed deep sorrow over what he termed the “untimely death” of Ismail. He highlighted that Ismail was not only a committed member of his cabinet but also a loyal friend who stood steadfastly beside him throughout his political journey.
Describing Ismail as a trustworthy individual devoted to both Allah and humanity, Bello emphasized his immeasurable love and compassion towards all. The governor acknowledged Ismail’s significant contributions to the growth and development of his community, the state, and beyond.
