Actor and filmmaker Femi Adebayo has unveiled the voice behind the captivating narration in his acclaimed film “Jagun Jagun” – the renowned storyteller, actor, and poet Jimi Solanke.
In a heartfelt Instagram post on Tuesday, Femi paid tribute to Solanke, who passed away on Monday while on his way to the hospital. Sharing a snippet from the film, Femi expressed his deep sympathy for Solanke’s family and acknowledged the indelible mark left by the legendary voice actor on the hearts of audiences.
Femi praised Solanke’s mesmerizing narration, emphasizing how his profound voice brought each moment in “Jagun Jagun” to life, leaving lasting memories cherished by many. He extended his condolences to Solanke’s family and all those affected by his loss.
Born in Ipara Remo, Ogun State, Solanke began his illustrious career as a founding member of the Orisun Theatre Group, established by the iconic playwright Wole Soyinka in 1961. Known affectionately as Baba Agba, Solanke’s legacy spans decades of captivating performances and profound storytelling.
At 81 years old, Solanke’s passing marks the end of an era, yet his contributions to the world of theater and storytelling will continue to inspire and resonate for generations to come.
