Eseme Eyiboh, media adviser to Akpabio, joins NIPR

Eseme Eyiboh, former spokesperson for the House of Representatives and current Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to Senate President Godswill Akpabio, has been officially inducted as a member of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR).

The induction ceremony took place on Tuesday, welcoming Eyiboh and 23 other new members. The Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, presided over the event, inaugurating the NIPR 2023-2025 governing council.

In his address, Minister Idris urged the NIPR governing council to focus on professionalizing the institute and operating within the legal framework to eradicate quackery within the profession. He emphasized the importance of building a positive reputation for Nigeria, highlighting reputation as a crucial pillar in nation-building.

Idris commended the initiatives and programs of the current council led by Dr. Ike Neliaku, expressing confidence that if well implemented, they could transform both the institute and the country into a global hub for reputation.

During the induction, NIPR National President Dr. Ike Neliaku administered the oath to the new members, emphasizing the institute’s commitment to excellence and professionalism. Neliaku declared an end to the era of quacks in the industry and revealed the activation of the compliance department to ensure full adherence to the NIPR Act of 2007.

Additionally, Neliaku mentioned that the institute had communicated with all government ministries, departments, and agencies (MDAs), educating them on the necessity of complying with the law’s provisions and discouraging the appointment of non-professionals in their communication and public relations units and departments.
