1 fatality and over 30 injured amid turbulence on Singapore Airlines flight

Singapore Airlines has confirmed that one individual has tragically lost their life and over 30 others sustained injuries due to severe turbulence experienced during a flight from London to Singapore.

The incident occurred aboard a Boeing 777-300ER aircraft which departed from London on Monday. While en route, the flight encountered unexpected turbulence necessitating its diversion to Bangkok, where it safely landed on Tuesday, as detailed in a statement posted on the airline’s Facebook page.

The flight had a total of 211 passengers and 18 crew members on board. Singapore Airlines expressed its heartfelt condolences to the family of the deceased individual.

The airline further stated that it is actively collaborating with local authorities in Thailand to provide necessary medical assistance to the injured passengers. Additionally, a dedicated team from Singapore Airlines is en route to Bangkok to provide further support and assistance.
