The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has reiterated its commitment to empowering young Nigerians through youth-friendly credit policies and capacity-building programmes to drive economic growth and innovation.

Speaking at the Youth Action Event in Abuja on Friday, CBN Governor Olayemi Cardoso, represented by Deputy Governor of Economic Policy, Muhammad Abdullahi, emphasized that the apex bank remains focused on providing young people with the financial tools necessary for success.

Cardoso further highlighted that the bank’s policies are designed to support youth entrepreneurship and innovation, particularly in emerging sectors such as the green economy and digital transformation.

Cardoso acknowledged that Nigerian youth are not just the leaders of tomorrow, but vital contributors to shaping economic policies and transformations today.

Financial inclusion remains at the core of the CBN’s mission, with Cardoso affirming that the bank will continue to design and implement policies that close financial access gaps, particularly for young people and underserved communities.

Minister of Youth Development, Ayodele Olawande, affirmed the government’s commitment to youth welfare in the country.
