Folashade Tinubu-Ojo, daughter of President Bola Tinubu and also the Iyaloja General of Lagos, offered words of reassurance to Nigerians amidst the prevailing economic challenges. Speaking at the 2024 Mawlid Nabiyy event organized by the Lagos State chapter of Aljamahatul Qadiriyyah Islamic Movement, Mrs. Tinubu-Ojo urged citizens to exercise patience, emphasizing that the current economic downturn is not unique to Nigeria alone.
In her address to journalists, she emphasized the importance of maintaining hope and perseverance during challenging times. “My message to all Nigerians is to please exercise a little more patience. Everything will be alright; it’s just a matter of time. We need to keep our hope alive. There is an economic downturn all over the world, and not in Nigeria alone. But we pray Allah will see us through,” she stated.
This message echoed similar sentiments expressed by her brother, Seyi Tinubu, who recently urged Nigerians to endure the prevailing economic hardships with a view to securing a brighter future. Seyi’s remarks, shared on Instagram, sparked public debate and controversy, prompting discussions about the nation’s economic trajectory and the role of leadership in navigating challenging times.
