BADAGRY, NIGERIA – A multi-vehicle collision on the Lagos-Badagry Expressway late Tuesday night left three people injured. The accident, which involved a trailer, a Toyota Camry, and a Lexus car, occurred near Agbo-Malu in the Age-mowo area around 11:36 p.m.
According to William Manga, Unit Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in Badagry, emergency responders were alerted to the incident at 11:42 p.m. and arrived at the scene within 10 minutes.
“Preliminary investigations suggest that the accident resulted from a combination of factors, including potential loss of control and a lack of concentration by one or more of the drivers,” Manga stated.
Five individuals were involved in the collision. While two escaped unharmed, three sustained varying degrees of injuries. The injured were promptly transported to the Lagos State Mobil Clinic for immediate medical attention.
The FRSC, working with local authorities, swiftly cleared the accident scene, removing the damaged vehicles from the expressway to minimize traffic disruption.
Manga urged motorists to exercise extreme caution while driving on the Lagos-Badagry Expressway, particularly on this one-lane stretch. He emphasized the importance of maintaining safe speeds, remaining vigilant, and avoiding distractions to prevent such incidents.
