Sultan Sa’ad Abubakar of Sokoto has officially declared Monday, March 11 as the commencement of Ramadan, following the sighting of the moon across the country. The announcement, made via the National Moonsighting Committee Nigeria’s X handle, confirms the start of Ramadan 1445 AH.
In his proclamation, Sultan Abubakar urged Muslims nationwide to observe the fast in accordance with Islamic teachings. He emphasized the importance of utilizing the sacred month to pray fervently for an end to the prevailing insecurity in Nigeria.
