The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has inaugurated its Digital Museum of Dynamic History and Television Studio in the Federal Capital Territory, showcasing its legacy and contributions since its establishment in 1973.

The facility was unveiled by Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Olufemi Tinubu, who commended the NYSC for its unwavering commitment to national unity and youth development.

Celebrating Unity and Innovation
Speaking at the event, Mrs. Tinubu highlighted the NYSC’s role in promoting patriotism and fostering unity among Nigerian youth.

“This event underscores the significant contributions of the NYSC over the years. It reflects the resilience, creativity, and innovation of Nigerian youth who continue to rise above challenges with unshakable determination,” she remarked.

Mrs. Tinubu described the museum as a dynamic archive of Nigeria’s shared history, emphasizing its alignment with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda. She praised the initiative for leveraging technology to enhance inclusivity and digital transformation.

NYSC’s Legacy and Future
NYSC Director General, Brig. Gen. Yusha’u Ahmed, expressed pride in the scheme’s achievements over the past five decades.

“The National Youth Service Corps has recorded remarkable successes in promoting national unity, integration, and development,” he said.

Ahmed described the museum as a hub for research, cultural preservation, and inspiration. “This digital facility will serve not only as a repository of artifacts and memories but also as a major tourist attraction, connecting technology with learning and engagement.”

He emphasized its value for researchers, students, and visitors, adding that it reflects the NYSC’s continued relevance in Nigeria’s socio-economic progress.

The Minister of State for Youth Development, Olawande Ayodele, also lauded the initiative, describing it as a symbol of unity and knowledge.

“This museum reflects the history, innovation, and contributions of our youth over the years. It will inspire future generations to build on the legacy of the NYSC,” Ayodele said.

The Minister highlighted the potential of Nigeria’s youth—who constitute 70% of the population—as a driving force for national development and urged them to engage with the facility as a resource for research and learning.
