The father of the late singer Mohbad, Joseph Aloba has suggested a DNA test to be carried out on the latter’s son Liam.
He poured out his hearts while he was being interviewed by the BBC Pidgin team, which was published on Tuesday, saying that the right thing should be done at the right time.
According to him, “This thing has come to majority now, not only Nigeria. So, they should do the proper thing at the proper time.”
Mr Aloba also talked about how gentle his late son was and the relationship they had.
Mr Aloba said, in quote: “Mohbad is a very quiet someone, he no dey talk o. Whatever you give to him will satisfy him. He’s my friend, we normally move together. Whatever I’m doing he would try to join me to do it.”
Additionally, he also said that Mohbad became interested in music through him.
“Ilerioluwa is a kind of person that whatever you are doing, he would like to do something like that. Because he knows me as a musician, whenever I’m going out he is ready to follow me. Sometimes he used to dance, sometimes he would be the person to back me up. So, that was how we started,” he said.
Social media has been so hot lately on whether the child Mohbad’s partner gave birth to is genuinely his, therefore the suggestion of a DNA test arises.
Mohbad died on Tuesday, September 12 leaving behind his partner, son and parents.
Particularly last month, the Lagos Police Command exhumed his corpse for an autopsy to investigate his death.
They have also taken Sam Larry and Naira Marley who have been at the centre of the controversy regarding the 27-year-old’s death into custody for questioning.
