Iran has extended its airspace closure as it braces for possible Israeli retaliation following its missile strike on Israel on Tuesday evening.
According to state news agency ISNA, all flights have been suspended until 5 AM (0130 GMT) on Thursday to ensure aviation security, as confirmed by a spokesman for the aviation authority.
The closure began over Tehran after Iran launched a series of missiles targeting Israel, citing the attack as a response to the recent killings of Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh, Hezbollah Chief Hassan Nasrallah, and an Iranian general.
Iran identified three Israeli air bases and the headquarters of the Mossad, Israel’s foreign intelligence agency, as the intended targets of the missile barrage.
