Former teacher Folasade Thomas, formerly of Olashore International School, Osogbo, recently took to Facebook to celebrate the remarkable achievements of her ex-student, Stephanie Adeniji. Stephanie, who recently graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Communications (Broadcast) from Lamar University in Beaumont, Texas, USA, has garnered recognition for her outstanding work in the field.
Not only did Stephanie excel academically, but she also received the prestigious “Second Place” award in the In-Depth Video News Reporting – Division 2 category at the 2024 Texas Intercollegiate Press Association Awards for her insightful interview titled “LUTV News ‘InFocus’ – Sanaz Alasti: Death Penalty, Discipline, and Determination.”
In her heartfelt Facebook post, Mrs. Thomas reminisced about her counseling sessions with Stephanie during their time at Olashore International School, expressing immense pride and gratitude for her student’s accomplishments. She praised Stephanie’s hard work and attributed her success to a combination of effort and divine intervention.
Meanwhile, Stephanie Adeniji has accepted an internship opportunity from The Fund for American Studies in Washington D.C. for the summer of 2024. During this internship, Stephanie will have the privilege of attending guest lectures by esteemed journalists and media professionals in Washington D.C., as well as behind-the-scenes briefings at prominent government institutions such as the U.S. Capitol and the State Department.
Looking ahead, Stephanie plans to continue her academic journey by pursuing graduate studies in Communications at the University of Texas, San Antonio, starting in the fall of 2024.
