The Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, has criticized those who are rebuking President Bola Tinubu for his remarks regarding the ongoing #EndBadGovernanceInNigeria protest, labeling them as individuals with hidden motives.
According to Keyamo, these critics aim to pressure the President into sharing power with them.
In a brief statement posted on his verified X account on Tuesday, Keyamo remarked, “Even if Mr. President @officialABAT were to revise his excellent speech a million times, those with ulterior motives would continue to disparage it, merely to justify their ongoing instigation of chaos.
“Their true objective is to coerce the President into negotiating power with them. It’s as simple as that. The real victims are the uninformed but well-meaning citizens on social media who are loudly voicing their opinions, alongside the looters and vandals causing havoc on the streets.”
He further added, “Behind all these appearances is a complex game of power being played by unseen forces.”
It is noteworthy that some Nigerians have criticized the President, arguing that his address on the nationwide protest failed to address the demands of the protesters.
Notable figures who have condemned the President’s speech include Nobel Laureate Wole Soyinka, Peoples Democratic Party leader Dele Momodu, former Minister of Education Oby Ezekwesili, and Senior Advocate of Nigeria Femi Falana, among others.
