Emir Sanusi Reassures Bichi People: District Head Will Be Restored Peacefully

The Emir of Kano, Muhammad Sanusi II, has pledged to ensure the peaceful reinstatement of the District Head of Bichi, Munir Bayero. Speaking on Wednesday during a solidarity visit by traditional and religious leaders from Bichi Local Government Area, the Emir expressed his commitment to resolving the situation amicably.

The delegation, led by the Chairman of Bichi Local Government, Alhaji Hamza Sule, visited the Emir to reaffirm their loyalty and support for his leadership.

Addressing the gathering, Emir Sanusi described the recent disruptions at the palace as “a distraction,” adding that the reasons behind the actions remain unclear. He assured the delegation that a new date would soon be set for the formal handover of the District Head.

“What happened was only a distraction,” Sanusi said. “We still don’t know why it happened, and those involved have not provided any explanations. However, this will not stop anything. I assure you that another day will be fixed, and your District Head will be delivered peacefully. Inform the public to remain calm and prayerful because peace and prayer will guide us to a positive resolution.”

The visit follows a recent incident where security personnel reportedly barricaded the Emir’s palace, preventing the departure of the newly appointed District Head to Bichi. Palace insiders revealed that Munir Bayero was scheduled to assume his duties that day, but heavy security presence delayed the process.
