Socialite Pascal Okechukwu, famously known as Cubana Chief Priest, took to social media to assert his stature despite his recent legal entanglement. The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) brought forth charges against the nightlife mogul for allegedly abusing the Nigerian currency at a social gathering held at Eko Hotel.
The EFCC accused Cubana Chief Priest of spraying and tampering with N500 notes, which is deemed an offense under the Central Bank Act of 2007. Despite the charges, the Instagram influencer pleaded not guilty and was granted bail in the sum of N10 million by Justice Kehinde Ogundare, who also mandated him to provide two sureties.
Following his arraignment, Cubana Chief Priest expressed gratitude to his supporters, affirming his financial status by declaring, “Money💸 Na Water.” This statement echoed his confidence and resilience amid the legal proceedings.
Cubana Chief Priest’s case marks another high-profile legal battle this year, reminiscent of Bobrisky’s recent encounter with the law over similar allegations. Bobrisky is currently serving a six-month jail term, highlighting the seriousness of the charges faced by public figures involved in currency abuse.
