Atiku mourns Enugu tanker victims, demands action

Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has conveyed deep sorrow over the tragic fuel tanker explosion in Enugu State that claimed multiple lives.

In a heartfelt message shared on his X handle on Saturday, Atiku expressed his condolences to the families and friends of the victims, labeling the frequent tanker explosions as “a pressing national emergency demanding urgent action.”

“Not again, oh dear! My heart goes out to the families and loved ones of those who lost their lives in the Enugu fuel tanker tragedy. May their souls rest in peace,” he wrote.

Atiku emphasized the alarming frequency of such incidents and urged the government to take decisive steps to address the issue.

“These recurring tanker explosions have become a grave concern. It’s imperative for the government to launch an inquiry into these persistent tragedies,” he added.

The devastating incident in Enugu State resulted in 18 fatalities, while 13 others were rescued from the fire.
