As the Ondo State governorship election approaches, the Lucky Aiyedatiwa Campaign Organisation is radiating optimism about the All Progressives Congress (APC) party’s readiness for the November 16 poll. Dismissing rumors of internal strife, the campaign team asserts that the party is experiencing unprecedented unity and strength.
Victor Olabimtan, the Campaign Organisation’s Director-General and Chairman of the State Universal Basic Education Board, addressed party members during a strategic gathering in Supare Akoko. He downplayed recent defections to opposition parties, insisting that the influx of new members far outweighs any departures.
“For every three who leave, we welcome a hundred,” Olabimtan declared confidently. He lauded Governor Aiyedatiwa as the ideal candidate, citing his composure, capacity, educational background, and resources as unmatched qualities in the race.
The campaign director highlighted Aiyedatiwa’s impactful leadership over the past six months, portraying him as a principled governor attuned to the needs of Ondo State residents. This sentiment was echoed by party stalwart Niran Olanusi, who praised Aiyedatiwa’s performance as a catalyst for mobilizing support.
Olanusi went so far as to claim that the APC faces no real opposition in the upcoming election, crediting Aiyedatiwa’s “excellent performance” over the past seven months for solidifying widespread support, particularly in the Akoko areas.
As the campaign season kicks into high gear, the APC in Ondo State appears to be leveraging Aiyedatiwa’s track record and the party’s claimed unity to build momentum. With strategizing underway and confidence running high, the ruling party is positioning itself as the frontrunner in what promises to be a closely watched gubernatorial race.
