Nigerian actress Dada Omowunmi has shared her harrowing experience of contracting sepsis during a film project in Oyo State.

Her revelation follows a similar account by fellow actress Jemima Osunde, who detailed her own health struggles after consuming contaminated food on a film set in Ibadan.

Responding to Osunde’s post on X.com on Friday, Dada wrote, “My dear… I got sepsis on a project in Oyo, they literally left me in the hotel. Thank God my family and management got a car to take me to a hospital in Ibadan. I got there unconscious. It was sepsis, and I was lucky to be alive.”

Osunde responded with shock and empathy, saying, “OMG! Sepsis? Thank God for your life sis! Thank God!” She also shared her own ordeal, recounting how she had to fund her treatment after falling ill due to contaminated food on set.

“Sameeee! I got myself to Lagos and to the hospital. Paid for my treatment myself. They were sending me messages about a refund. By the time my team sent a response with all the clauses they had breached in the contract, they went quiet,” Osunde wrote.

Earlier, YEPS News reported that Osunde revealed she contracted Helicobacter pylori, a stomach-infecting bacteria, from contaminated food provided during a production three years ago in Ibadan. This led to a prolonged battle with gastroesophageal reflux disease.
