A private jet crash-lands in Ibadan with 10 people on board

A private jet carrying 10 individuals crash-landed in close proximity to the Samuel Ladoke Akintola Airport in Ibadan, the capital of Oyo State. The incident occurred at approximately 11 am on Friday.

According to reports, the jet veered off the runway and skidded into the nearby bush. Fortunately, there were no casualties. Prompt response from firefighters and rescue teams from the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) was initiated immediately.

The aircraft, originating from Abuja, managed to land safely but overshot the runway. Carol Adekotujo, a spokesperson for the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA), confirmed the incident, stating, “It was a private plane from Abuja. It landed safely but overshot the runway. There was no casualty.”

It’s worth noting that in November, another incident occurred at the same airport involving a plane carrying the Minister of Power, Adebayo Adelabu, which crash-landed.
